Previously, the federal network regulator had set the installed capacity at 1.067 GW in March and 881 MW in April 2023; now, the new installed capacity in these months to 1.118 GW, 1.007 GW and 1.05 GW, respectively. it is estimated that Germany only needs to add another 4 GW to reach the target of 9 GW this year.
Among Germany's new installed PV capacity regions, the Bavarian region makes the largest contribution with 1.32 GW, by North Rhine-Westphalia with 749 MW and Baden-Württemberg with 661.5 MW.
It is worth mentioning that in order to achieve the 2030 target, Germany added PV installed capacity to 9GW, 13GW and 18GW in 2023, 2024 and 2025 respectively.
