"Power shortage" crisis intensifies as South Africa speeds up approval of indigenous landscape projects 2023-03-09
Recently, South Africa's power shortage has intensified, and in response to the energy crisis, the South African government has announced that it will increase power imports while encouraging private companies to increase investment and promote the construction of renewable energy generation projects.

Over the past few years, South Africa has experienced varying degrees of power shortages. In order to alleviate the power crisis, South Africa's National Energy Crisis Committee said that in the short term, it will import more power from neighboring countries and buy power from private power producers; in the long term, it will accelerate the construction of new power generation capacity, encourage private enterprises to invest and increase the construction of renewable energy power.

According to CNN, the South African government has also recently accelerated the speed of approval of local scenic power projects and provided permits to private energy project developers, with the installed renewable energy capacity in South Africa showing a steady rise. According to data released by South African asset manager Futuregrowth, new scenic power projects have attracted a total of more than US$12.3 billion in private investment between 2011 and 2020.
