According to a comprehensive statistical analysis of the PV market by the Association of Greek Photovoltaic Companies, 1.36GW of new PV capacity will be added in 2022, with more than twice as much commercial and industrial installations as residential PV. These figures are preliminary, as the Greek renewable energy regulator, Dapeep, has not yet officially announced the number of PV deployments in 2022.
Previously, the Greek renewable energy regulator Dapeep published data showing that Greece installed 932 MW of new PV capacity in the first three quarters of 2022, excluding installation figures under net metering, which will be announced separately by the country's distribution grid operator.
Given the current development of the PV market, the Greek government is looking to boost the residential segment by introducing a new incentive scheme specifically for residential solar + storage. The government has indicated that the new scheme will be announced soon, possibly by the end of March 2023.
