São Paulo, Brazil, August 29, 2024 — The three-day Intersolar South America 2024 exhibition in São Paulo's Expo Center Norte came to a successful conclusion today. Concurrently with the exhibition, the Intersolar South America Conference was also successfully held, with renowned experts engaging in in-depth exchanges and discussions on industry hot topics. Participants generally agreed that Brazil, as the largest economy in Latin America, boasts abundant natural resources and growing electricity demand, coupled with the government's active policy support, making it a region with immense potential for solar energy development. According to data from the Brazilian Solar Photovoltaic Energy Association (ABSolar), Brazil added over 6GW of new photovoltaic installations in the first five months of 2024, bringing the total installed capacity to over 45.7GW, with solar power accounting for 19.4% of the country's electricity mix.

The Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) and the research institute of the Ministry of Mines and Energy also revealed several favorable news during the exhibition. ANEEL reported that Brazil's photovoltaic installed capacity is growing steadily and plans to introduce more policies in the next three years to facilitate the connection of solar projects to the grid. Furthermore, Brazil has selected 17 projects with a total capacity of 23.6MW for evaluation, aiming to explore technologies and business paths for integrating solar energy into the grid.
